Imagine stepping into a charming corner of Italy right in Rye, New York – that’s the experience that awaits you at La Fenice of Rye. This delightful café, located at 3 Purdy Ave, is more than just a place to grab coffee; it’s a cultural escape designed to ignite your taste buds and warm your heart.

The café specializes in authentic Italian pastries, delightful gelato, and expertly brewed coffee that beckons you to take a seat and savor every sip. With enticing choices on the menu, including **Nutella gelato** and **Oreo gelato**, your dessert cravings will be utterly satisfied. Their **crepes** are a must-try too, satisfying both sweet and savory cravings. Whether you opt for a classic hazelnut spread or venture into the world of creative fillings, each crepe is a beautiful blend of flavor and texture that transports you to a quaint European café.

The ambience at La Fenice is genuine and inviting, making it an ideal spot for both quick coffee to-go or a leisurely afternoon indulgence. Customers have raved about the cozy atmosphere, reminiscent of their hometown coffee spots in Italy. Noelle Gross describes it as her “new favorite coffee shop,” appreciating the excellent Americano and the plethora of pastries available. It’s this combination of a welcoming environment and delectable offerings that keeps patrons returning time and again.

However, it's important to note that while La Fenice is rich in flavor and charm, it has limited seating options and no public restrooms available – so plan accordingly if you're looking to linger! Pablo Honey mentions that though the service might come off as a tad unfriendly, the **ice creams**, **ices**, and espresso will surely make up for it. Many regulars, like Steve Stefos, even dream about the possibilities of grappa and Prosecco, indicative of the expansive Italian experience this cafe strives to offer.

If you’re in Rye and looking for a genuine taste of Italy, La Fenice of Rye is an absolute gem worth visiting. Whether you're popping in for your morning coffee, grabbing a delicious afternoon gelato, or delighting in a beautifully crafted crepe, each visit promises a small portal into the heart of Italian culture and cuisine.

Amazing coffee, gelato, and pastries. Great little place. Been there twice ever and plan on making many more visits. Try the Nutella gelato or the Oreo gelato either separate or OMG together amazing!!!!! They now have Crepes not sure if they did all this time but they do now and you have to have 1.

One of Rye gems. Going in is like stepping into my home town coffee spot in Italy. Ice creams, ices, expresso and pastries. Go and enjoy!

Good Italian pastries. Good coffee. Service not so friendly and no public bathrooms so if you want to hang out have coffee and do some work. This might not be the right spot.
